The Impossible List

For so long I have dreamed of doing amazing things! But for an equal length of time, I have committed minimal to no effort to forge them into a reality.

IT’S TIME TO CHALLENGE MYSELF.

The Impossible List is a categorised record of goals, challenges, “impossible” and “unachievable” objectives. The list does not necessarily have a time limit. However, it is not a bucket list which only reflects wishful dreams, often left unfulfilled. The Impossible List is designed to be a progression of goals, whereas a bucket list is stagnant, floating in cold to the luke-warm effort.

I first found out about the Impossible List from College Info Geek, which is an awesome productivity blog/youtube channel/podcast run by Thomas Frank. Frank adopted the practice from Joel Runyon’s blog post. I have chosen to use Thomas Frank’s version because I think the ‘current focuses’ and ‘last 5 comlpeted goals’ categories help to motivate me and view my list as more achievable.

The list is about getting things done you never thought you would actually do. It is like a clump of playdough; lucid, mouldable and able to be shaped into anything.

I generally have started with smaller challenges, then crossed them out and written down bigger ones. It’s great to post this online to help me be more accountable. I’d recommend checking you’re Impossible List at least once a week, preferably in the morning to get you jeed up! Don’t forget to update it as you discover new goals and complete your epic adventures.
